EXCITING UPDATE:  Construction is well underway on our new, freestanding Epworth Campus which will house Evansville Christian High School for the 17/18 school year.  We have also enrolled our initial 9th grade class for the 16/17 school year.  They are meeting at our Cullen Campus and will move to the new campus/facility this summer!  We continue to post construction pictures on our Facebook page (ECSwired).

Praise the Lord!  This is an answer to the prayers of many and will impact this community for generations.  We are thankful for all those who have supported the project, as we work together to create a KingSITE PLAN CROP smalldom testimony.

Given the status of our fundraising and other discussions, we have signed construction documents for the $7.5 million project which includes the site work, the academic portion of the facility, full-size gym, and the shell of future athletic areas (locker rooms and fitness room).  We are continuing to work to fully fund the initial phase of the building, minimize our debt service, and be good stewards of our resources.

If you would like to make a commitment to our high school project/gym, we ask that you complete and return our High School Commitment Form (click here to print the form).  Donations may be make with the commitment or may be made over several (e.g. 3-5 years).  See below for more details on opportunities to support the project.

Project Details

As approved by the board, for $7.5 million, we will develop the campus (including parking, a soccer field, and water retention) and build a 43,000 square-foot facility to meet the academic needs of 200 students.  We will also share parking and entrance/exit roads with our church partneBoth Floorsrs.  Details of the building include:

  • Eight flexible learning spaces;[1]
  • Two science rooms/labs;
  • Two fine arts/music/band rooms;
  • Commons area/seating & gathering stairs;
  • Collaboratory, media, & small group spaces;
  • Gym with two practice courts;
  • Shell of the locker rooms and fitness room; and
  • Administrative offices with secured entrances.

The commons area and gathering stairs will be the “heart of the school” and create a family environment.  It will also provide space for mid-size presentations, performances, and events; as well as the lunch area for students.

We are excited about some of the elements included in the design to meet the needs of our students and staff.  We have developed plans to meet our students’ needs today and in the future, including expansion of the facility.

Timing and Fundraising

We started construction in June 2016 and the entire project will take 12 months to complete.  Thus, the initial 9th grade class will move in to the new facility as sophomores (17/18 school year) along with our 2nd freshman class.
